Lostwithiel Rotary refit Community Centre kitchen
Wednesday 1st February 2012
Lostwithiel Rotary gave up their time over the Christmas holidays to refit the kitchen in Lostwithiel Community Centre.
The old kitchen was nearing 30 years and in dire need of replacement. The Community Centre had approached the Rotary to help with a refit. One of the Lostwithiel Rotarians, Alan Dorling, is a kitchen fitter so he used his expertise to cut MDF while other Rotarians re-tiled the kitchen. Marcus Wherry from the Carpet Gallery has laid new flooring.
5 Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme volunteers helped to clear and prepare the kitchen and then set it up again in time for a market on New Year's Day.
Chairman John Gilbert is delighted with the refit and described the new kitchen as "a light, modern workspace".
