Play Boules in Lostwithiel
Friday 12th August 2022
Lostwithiel Twinning Association has received permission to create a temporary Boulodrome on the Parade, between the War Memorial and the Garden of Remembrance.
What is a Boulodrome? Well, it is a court, piste or pitch for playing Boules.
Lostwithiel is twinned with Pleyber Christ in Brittany, and the town’s Twinners thought it might be fun to have a Boulodrome in the town which anyone can use to play the very French game of Boules or Pétanque.
Boules is a great game for all ages - the rules are simple and quick to learn. You can find them on the Twinning Association website
Regular Boules Sessions.
If you don’t have your own set of boules, then come and join us Twinners at our regular sessions below where, if the idea catches on and the weather is dry, you will always find someone to play with. Just turn up and have a go - everyone is welcome.
• Boules on Sunday: Every Sunday morning from 10am until 12 noon.
• Boules on Wednesday: Every Wednesday evening during Summer and early Autumn from 6pm until 8pm.
If the idea does catch on, then the Twinning Association will ask the Town Council about creating a more permanent facility with a proper playing surface.
