Friday 13th April 2018
March has been a month of so many new positives at the Centre, it’s a job to know quite where to start…. First, there’s been a great 40th Birthday Party held in the newly refurbished and re-ceilinged main hall. (So in case you didn’t know, or you know someone who might like to know, the Centre can now offer a full function events hall, or other, smaller, spaces, plus the facility of full bar and catering tailored to whatever your preferences might be. All party and events needs can now be met, including staging, and PA system if required, and the new ‘draped-marquee’ ceiling and ‘variable lighting’ effects enable total creation and control of whatever ‘look’ or ’feel’ you want for your own big occasion, or any other family or group activity).
Then, the following week-end, Tango In The Night was a brilliant success – playing Fleetwood Mac in aid of Believe in Aiden, a local lad needing an operation not covered by the NHS, to enable him to walk. The evening raised over £2,500 for little Aiden…. Big thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed themselves and helped achieve such a great outcome into the bargain….
And then there was the welcome return of the Beer Festival – huge thanks to Rotary for arranging it once again, setting it up, and staging it on the day, and to the Jaguars for keeping everyone entertained with some great ‘60s music through the evening. Big thanks too to those who then cleared up, washed the floors and left the Centre immaculate and fully re-usable for the following day. Much appreciated.
Meanwhile, of course, if you know of a band that would like to showcase here – or that you’d like to see perform here – don’t hesitate to call us (or get them to call us) for a chat, on 01208 872207. We’re keen to see the Centre flourish again as a regular ‘gig’ venue quite as much as in any other way. So, ‘gig’-wise, Motown Pirates are next up, on Friday 25th May, so pop that in your diary right now (tickets available soon) and keep watching this space!
On a separate but equally relaxing note, the Centre’s hosting a Well-Being Fair on 29th April followed by An Evening with Gayle Force (Cornish Clairvoyant, Healer, Medium and Author) on 17th May. Come on down, and ‘chill out’……..!
‘Thank you’ again for your ever-increasing use of your Centre – as we’ve said before and will continue to say, the better it gets used, the better it’ll continue to get. Till the next update, best wishes from all your LCA Team at the Centre. For more information on all the Centre’s activities, please either like our Facebook page or or click onto our new website.
