The Lostwithiel Boat Owners Association is a voluntary group set up by a few local people frustrated by the number of apparently abandoned boats down by the slipway
approaching the entrance to Coulson Park. The organisers consider that as well as being unsightly, these boats prevent other boats owned by regular users of the River Fowey from being stored.

Their plan is to try and identify the owners of regularly used boats and then remove those boats that have been abandoned. This will free up the space for new boats and make it easier for those owners who regularly use their boats.

The group have started a facebook page with photographs of all the boats that were recently in the vicinity and have asked owners to identify their vessels.

On Sunday, August 9, 2020 between 10am and 1pm the organisers will bring a pressure washer to the slipway to offer a boat washing service for anyone who wants to give their boat a quick clean. No chemicals will be used. Just water

In due course the group plan to add a chain or bar on the right hand side of the slipway for more boats to be secured there.
