The Man Engine will return to Lostwithiel on Easter Monday 2018.

The largest mechanical puppet ever constructed in Britain previously toured Cornwall during Summer 2016 in support of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

Following recent success in the National Lottery Awards there is to be another tour across Cornwall and over the Tamar to Tavistock after which The Man Engine will pass through Somerset, South Wales and up to the North of England.

On March 31st 2018 the Man Engine will start his journey at Geevor Tin Mine in West Cornwall. On Easter Sunday April 1st he will be at Heartlands and then on Easter Monday April 2nd he will arrive in Lostwithiel.

Will Coleman organiser of the event said two different sessions had been arranged for the King George V Playing Field in Lostwithiel.

“The Afternooner which will give families and big kids the chance to really get to know their favourite giant miner: there will be an industrial-scale feast of fun and frolics. Followed by the ‘After darker’ providing an edgier explosive experience including white-hot pyrotechnics - sparks will fly! Suffice to say, we are cranking up the experience that held everyone spellbound last year.”

Entrance to the afternoon event will be from 12 noon, with the ceremony running from 2pm to 3-30pm. For the evening session doors open at 6:30pm, the ceremony starts at 8:30pm and ends at 10:00pm.
