Have your about Cornwall Council's budget
Friday 25th October 2013
Lostwithiel Town Council have drawn attention to the Cornwall Council budget 2014/18 consultation, "You Choose".
Cornwall Council are working on their budget for next year and looking ahead to be prepared for further national cuts. They anticipate reductions in the Council’s funding from the Government which will require them to save a further £196 million by 2019. This is on top of the £170 million savings the Council has already made in its budget since 2010.
You can take part in the You Choose budget consultation process on the Cornwall Council website until the end of October.
You Choose is an online budget simulator which offers information on the Council’s budget and provides the opportunity to give your view on how the Council should spend its money. You can choose to increase or decrease the budget available, using a series of sliders for each budget area, in an effort to balance the overall budget. You can also consider specific ways in which the Council could raise income or make further savings.
The results of this consultation will be presented along with views from public and partner budget meetings, in a summary budget consultation and engagement report for the Cabinet and Council to consider.
