Environment Group 2010 Photo Competition
Monday 9th August 2010
The quality and variety of the photographs was very impressive. The decisions of the judges involved a lot of discussion about the merits of each of the images. However the judges were unanimous in their decisions.
This year's subject was "Tales from the Riverbank - Photos of the rivery Foewy from Source to Sea". The judges congratulate the prize-winners and thank all the other entrants on the very high standard achieved.
The judges were:
- Mr Peter Bland, Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society
- Mr Ken Robertson, Chairman of the Lostwithiel Forum Development Trust
- Mr Mark Pearson, member of the Lostwithiel Environment Group
The prizewinners were:
Group 1 (age 5-9 years)
1st "Gone Swimming" by Oscar Bamsey
2nd "Swans" by Lillie Bamsey
3rd "Boats at St Winnow" by Rosa Woods
Highly Commended "Boats, Coulson Park" by Lille Bamsey
Groups 2 (age 10-15 years)
1st "Golitha Falls"
2nd "Green Carpet"
3rd "Journey's End" (all three by Sarah Molyneux)
Highly Commended "Water Stars" by Amelia Bamsey
Group 3 (16+ years)
1st "Respryn Bridge" by Peter Ellis
2nd "High Tide at the Bridge" by Ian Ringer
3rd "Dawn at Lostwithiel" by Mike Seager
Highly Commended "Busy Little Boats" by Mary Mullarkey
Prizes for each categry were 1st Prize £30; 2nd Prize £20; 3rd Prize £10.
The Environment Group would like to add its thanks to those of the judges to all the entrants for participating. We hope to be able to run the competition again in 2011.
