Diamond Jubilee events and pictures

This weekend Lostwithiel will be celebrating the Jubilee in style with various events going on around town.

Saturday 2nd June

Jubilee Tea Dance - 1pm to 5pm, Church Rooms. Admission free.
Refreshments and entertainment with 1950's piano music and period hairstyles available for the ladies! Dance with recorded music, interval for a Jubilee Quiz with prize of a bottle of Champagne donated by Bellamama Deli. Refreshments and bar available.

Jubilee Concert with Lostwithiel Town Band - 7.30pm, Community Centre. Admission £5 including refreshments.

Sunday 3rd June

Civic Parade and Church Service, 10.30 to midday, St Bartholomew's Church
Civic Parade featuring Lostwithiel Town Band starting 10.30 followed by Church Service from 11am to 12noon.

Big Lunch, King George V Playing Field & Community Centre, midday to 1pm
Bring your own picnic or refreshments available at the Community Centre. Bar available.

London Pageant on the big screen, Community Centre, 1pm. Admission free.
The Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant will be shown on the big screen. Fairy cakes and other refreshments available.

Monday 4th June

Family Fun Run, King George V Playing Field, 11.30am. Admission free.
2 distances. 2.5 and 6.5 miles. BBQ Available from 11 onwards. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration 10.30-11.15 on KGV playing fields. Details available on 01208 871499.

Family Sports Day, King George V Playing Field, 1.30pm. Admission free.
Races for all ages. Free ice cream and milkshakes for competitors. Jubilee Medals will be awarded at conclusion of sports including for the Children’s poetry competition.

Bucking Palace Concert on the big screen, Community Centre, 7pm, Admission free.
The Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace will be show on the big screen. Bar and refreshments available.

Lighting of Beacon, Polscoe, 10.30pm
Lostwithiel Young Farmers will be lighting a beacon as part of a network of over 2,600 Beacons being lit by communities and others throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, along with the Commonwealth and UK Overseas Territories .

Tuesday 5th June

Carriage Procession and St Paul's service on the big screen, Community Centre, 10.30am. Free Admission.
The Royal procession and Thanksgiving service at St Paul's Cathedral will be show on the big screen. Refreshments available.

Dance through the Decades, Community Centre, 7.30pm. Admission Free.
Dance Through The Decades disco. Music, Bar, Raffle, Optional fancy dress with prizes for the best.
