Once again the venue for The 2013 Cornwall Christmas Bear Fair, taking place on Sunday 24th November, will be the Lostwithiel Community Centre. This will be the fifth Cornwall Bear Fair jointly organised there by Teddies of Trenode with Urchins Bear Shop (now at Tintagel) and the nineteenth involving Teddies of Trenode. This year promises to be the best Christmas Bear Fair ever! ... “The Best in the West!”

The Fair will feature up to 50 stands with hundreds of teddy bears – old and antique – new artist and designer - handcrafted by top national, international and local bear artists, with many from Cornwall & Devon. Tricia of “Teddies of Trenode” will once again have a large selection of ‘oldies’ to choose from, as well as giving valuations for any ‘veterans’ brought in. Dr. Cassy of “The Teddybear Hospital” will be providing restoration advice and, if necessary, ‘hospitalisation’ for any old and infirmed bears!

BSB Bear Supplies from Plymouth and Bear Basics from Wincanton will be featuring extensive ranges of bear making kits, patterns, materials and accessories, as well as giving practical advice. Apple Pie House from Gloucester, URCHINS Bears and Kingswear Bears will have superb stocks of renowned international trademark bears and friends.

Once again the Fair will have two Champagne Competitions – for “The Best Christmas Stand” and “The Best Christmas Bear” [this is for an own bear creation, of any size]. Both Competitions will be ‘Open to All’ but voting will be by visitors only! The winners will each receive a bottle of real champagne plus an engraved silver cup. There will also be a ‘Free Teddy Prize Draw’. The Draw and Champagne Awards will take place at approximately 3.45pm.

In addition the Fair will feature and endorse two Charity Stands – Cornwall Hospice Care and Animal Asia’s campaign to rescue bears from captivity and in distress all over Asia.

Lostwithiel Community Centre is a very popular venue with exhibitors and visitors alike and the Fairs have always been very well attended. The Centre is situated alongside the A390 [PL22 0HE], which runs through Lostwithiel, with it’s main line railway station a mere ½ a mile away. The Centre has very good catering facilities, easy level access and free parking outside and throughout the town, which is known as “The Antiques Centre of Cornwall”.

The Fair will take place between 10.00 and 4.00pm and will have a festive Christmas atmosphere.
The Entrance Fee will be £2.50 for adults, accompanied children under 14 will be admitted for FREE!
