Lostwithiel Concert Series
The Lostwithiel Concert Series host monthly gigs at St. Bartholomew’s on Church Street in the heart of Lostwithiel every month. Each performance will feature exceptional folk, traditional and acoustic music acts from across Cornwall and the UK.
There are also Open Mic nights, folk sessions and shout/singing evenings at the Kings Arms happening regularly.
This series of events is curated and produced by Daniel Woodfield and Anna Anise, who both grew up in South East Cornwall but have spent years in the folk, world and jazz scenes of London and Bristol respectively. They draw upon their wide networks of high quality acts around the country, and love of supporting Cornish music and community, to bring the Lostwithiel Concert Series to life.
The concerts have been off to a tremendous start since beginning in September 2024, with award winning London-based band Alvorada. The quintet wowed us with the infectious grooves of their Brazilian instrumental music. Then in October, we welcomed Hands of the Heron from Bristol with their mesmerising harmonies and sublimely detailed arrangements. One local audience member described the night, ‘Hands of the Heron are so natural and yet unconventional in their song structure with delicious, vibrant harmonies and great musicianship. Very original.’
Looking ahead to 2025 we look forward to shows from the much loved Will Keating and True Foxes, sublime folk from London’s Gavin Fairhall Lever, a special for St. Piran’s with acts singing in Kernewek in March and many more as the year goes on.
Locals have so far been delighted by the quality and atmosphere of the concerts so far, sharing such comments as ‘Beautiful music - wondrous setting’ and ‘A really beautiful evening from start to finish!’.
